I’m a mixed media artist with a passion for gilded gatherings and romantic whimsy. Over the years, my artistic style has morphed into a love affair with layering flowy watercolors, acrylics, gold leaf, and occasionally ink. I strive for balanced, happy, and dreamy paintings that evoke a feeling. My works have been exhibited in solo, group, and juried shows in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband and two kids. I love being a mommy and I love the creative process. My background is actually in bioproducts engineering research & development (think fermented foods, fiber, the like) — I’ve always been a tinker-er. I have two patents (nerd alert) and I’m constantly exploring ways to make things simpler or more beautiful. It was a huge shift for my life to make the switch to experimenting in the lab to experimenting in the studio, and it has been the most wonderful gift. My spirit is smiling. Life is good :)
. . . I’m not sure what else to say here, but here is an interview I did for photographer Barb Kellogg’s “Inspiring Women” series [click].
