Commissions can feel confusing, that’s the truth. You know you’re a fan of the artwork, but you may have absolutely no idea what you specifically want. Fear not, friend. Its been my experience that keeping the process flow for commissions as simple as possible to start is best….then the real beauty blooms during the back and forth communications. My clients can share as much or as little as they want in terms of the overall feeling they want their piece to evoke and the colors, style, etc. If you’re unsure, I promise we’ll get there together! I’ve worked with a wide range of clients who have shared a multitude of inspirational ideas from favorite colors, music, interior images on Pinterest boards, color palettes, mood boards, travel destinations, favorite places, wedding theme colors, you name it and I’ve probably used it as part of a vision for a painting project. I love it all! Each detail allows me to create a personalized toolbox to work from. I’m open to all creative ideas and I’m truly honored to be entrusted with your artistic vision! I love doing commission work, because I see it as a unique opportunity to bring your dream to life.
To begin, I have my clients start thinking about two things:
Choice of watercolor paper, fine gallery stretched canvas, or unstretched cotton canvas (I ship my larger pieces unstretched to save you money on shipping)
Choice of colors for a personalized color palette, and optional gold/rose gold/silver leaf adornments.
*Custom matting, framing, and wiring services are also available
Got an idea? I’d love to hear about it :) Let’s get started!
